DTN COMMENTS: A scattered trade is being reported in parts of Nebraska
at mostly $360, $2 higher than last week's weighted average. A Regional
has paid as much at $365 for some steers in Central Nebraska set to
deliver the week of June 9th. Asking prices in most areas remain not
fully established, a few more bids are now on the table. The South
remains very quiet at this point.
Beef cutouts are higher at midday (choice 359.46 +0.71, select 349.02
+4.06) with light to moderate box movement (36.92 lds of choice cuts,
9.27 lds of select cuts, 3.37 lds of trim, and 17.63 lds of ground). Near
the top of the noon hour, live cattle contracts are modestly to
moderately higher, feeder issues are mostly moderately lower.
